GoToMyPC Beta 8 FAQs

The GoToMyPC Beta program is open to all active personal users with a Windows or Mac computer, and is a great way to experience new functionality and share valuable feedback. You will be able to opt out of the beta program at any time and return to the standard version of GoToMyPC.

By volunteering for this program, you acknowledge that the beta version of GoToMyPC may contain bugs, errors and other problems and is provided to you "as-is." We ask that you submit feedback during your use of the beta versions so that we can build you the best product possible. By joining the beta program you agree to receive emails from GoToMyPC about beta features.

How do I enroll in the GoToMyPC Beta Program?

The ongoing beta program is open to all GoToMyPC personal users (unless the program is full). To sign up, please visit the Beta Participation page after you log in to your account on the GoToMyPC web site.

Will enabling this beta affect the stability of my GoToMyPC program and connections?

While every attempt is made to ensure session stability in a beta trial, you may encounter bugs that have not been identified.

I signed up for the Beta Program on the web site. How do I install the beta version?

Within 24 hours of signing up for the beta program, you'll receive an upgrade notification on the computer on which GoToMyPC is installed. To upgrade, follow the instructions in the notification.

Windows users that wish to immediately install GoToMyPC Beta can right-click the GoToMyPC icon in your system tray, select Check for Upgrade and then follow the on-screen instructions

Similarly, Mac users can right-click on the GoToMyPC icon in your Mac menu bar, select Check for Upgrade and following the on-screen upgrade prompts.

How will I be notified of the new beta features?

You can read a summary of the new features in the Beta Features page.

How do I share feedback on the beta version?

You can click the Disconnect and Give Feedback button at the end of your session to provide feedback.

Can I participate in the beta program if I'm a GoToMyPC Corporate or GoToMyPC Pro customer?

At this time the Beta Program is only open to GoToMyPC personal users.

If I enroll in the beta program, can I decide which of my host PCs are switched to the beta version?

Once enrolled your entire account will be switched to the beta version. However, you can exclude some of your host computers by simply ignoring the upgrade prompt.

How can I leave the Beta Program?

You can leave the Beta Program at any time by re-visiting the Beta Participation page and clicking the Yes, remove me from the beta program button.

Within 24 hours of leaving the beta program, you'll receive an upgrade notification on the computer on which GoToMyPC is installed. To return to the standard version of GoToMyPC, follow the instructions in the notification. Alternatively, Windows users can return to the standard version of GoToMyPC by right-clicking and selecting the Check for Upgrade from the icon in the system tray. Mac users can return to the standard version by restarting their machines and following the on-screen upgrade prompts.
