Upgrade Information

GoToMyPC will notify you when new updates are available. If you are on a PC, you can also check for new updates at any time by right-clicking the GoToMyPC icon in the system tray and selecting Check for Upgrade.  If a new version exists, you will be notified and asked if you want to upgrade.

Note: You can upgrade GoToMyPC versions 5.0 and higher while remotely connected to your host PC.

Should the automatic upgrade fail, you will need to manually update your GoToMyPC software.

What's new in 8.0?

  • Automatic Update: GoToMyPC can now update your host computer to the latest version and build without any user intervention.
  • Launcher Service: All GoToMyPC Mac users can now use the Launcher Service v2.0 by default, which does not require Java to install the software. Windows users can use the Launcher Service to launch the Viewer and not install the GoToMyPC host.
  • Windows 8 support: GoToMyPC is now supported on Windows 8.
  • New and improved GoToMyPC installer for Windows users.
  • Increase in RADIUS Timeout to give corporate users more flexibility to configure third-party RADIUS servers.

What's new in 7.2?

  • Direct Connections: Improves in-session performance by making a direct connection between your remote computer and your host PC, bypassing GoToMyPC communication servers.
  • Mac File Transfer: Mac users can now transfer individual files between Mac and PCs.
  • Mac Multi-Monitor: Mac users can now easily navigate between multiple monitors on either a host PC or Mac by scrolling or clicking the arrow at the edge of the screen.
  • Mac OS X 10.7 Lion: Full support for Mac OS X 10.7.

What's new in 7.0?

  • Mac Support: Native Mac viewer includes display options like zoom, full screen and multi-monitor support.
  • Cross-Platform Access: Flexibility to work PC to PC, Mac to Mac, Mac to PC or PC to Mac.
  • Cross-Platform Support: Tools to support cross-platform access like keyboard mapping, Cut/Copy and Paste, Send Ctrl-Alt-Delete and Set Right-Click.
  • Windows 7 Compatibility

What's new in 6.1? 

  • GoToMyPC 6.1 includes additional support and stability for host PCs with Windows Vista.
  • The latest GoToMyPC upgrade resolves an issue identified after the release of Vista Service Pack 1. Files transferred with the Drag and Drop feature to PCs with Windows Server 2008 or Vista SP1 could be corrupted. Any host PCs on Vista or Server 2008 SP1 should be upgraded to build 438 or later.

What's new in 6.0?

  • Sound: Enjoy your remote session even more with new customizable sound support.
  • In-Session File Sync: Easily synchronize your files and folders between the host and client.
  • Shortcut/Reconnect: Bypass the normal browser login screen with the Shortcut feature. Receive notification before a session is terminated due to inactivity and quickly reconnect.
  • GoToMyPC Printer: Quickly print from your client PC with the new GoToMyPC Printer driver. Setup and printer driver installations are no longer needed.
  • Guest Invite: Share your PC with a guest faster and with more control.
  • Vista Compatibility: GoToMyPC is now compatible with Microsoft Vista.
  • Universal Viewer: Universal Viewer support is improved and has added functionality.

Can I upgrade while in session?

Yes, you can upgrade GoToMyPC versions 5.0 and higher while remotely connected to your host computer.

To upgrade GoToMyPC

GoToMyPC will notify you when new updates are available. On a PC, you can also check upgrades.

1. Right-click the icon in the system tray and select Check for Upgrade.

2. If available, click Yes to upgrade.The new version will download and InstallShield Wizard will start. Click Next.

3. Make sure the Update option is selected and click Next. InstallShield Wizard will close and update GoToMyPC.

4. When prompted, click Finish to complete the upgrade process.

Note: Should the automatic upgrade fail, you will need to manually update your GoToMyPC software.
