Chat is an instant messaging feature that enables you to communicate with your customer during attended support sessions. This feature remains available throughout the entire session, despite whether you are viewing the customer's screen or not.
To chat with the customer
1. Click Chat in the Viewer menu, and a separate Chat window appears displaying the Chat Log.
Note: Your customer can also initiate Chat by clicking Chat in their Toolbar.
2. Type your message into the text field at the bottom of the window, and then click Send or press Enter on your keyboard to send it to the customer. Your message will appear in the Chat window, and the customer's response will appear below it.
- When the customer sends you a Chat message, the Chat window appears at the front of your screen to alert you to the new message.
- You can close the Chat window at any time by clicking the button in the top-right corner. This will not erase the Chat Log, and you can reopen the Chat window by clicking Chat in the Viewer menu again.
