Join a GoToAssist Seeit Session

If you have been invited by an agent to join a GoToAssist Seeit session, there are a few different ways to join the session using your mobile device. It is recommended that you first download the GoToAssist Seeit app for Android or iOS, then use any of the join methods below to get connected to your agent's session.

Download the GoToAssist Seeit App for Android

(for devices running Android OS 4.1.X (Jellybean) or later)

Note: For use by customers who join GoToAssist Seeit sessions from their Android device.

Join from the mobile app

You can download the GoToAssist Seeit app for Android or iOS on your mobile device, then join the session as follows:

  1. Tap the GoToAssist Seeit app icon to launch the app on your mobile device.
  2. Tap Enter Support Key and enter the 9-digit support key provided by the agent.
  3. Tap Join Sessionto be launched directly into the session.

Join from the email invitation

If you have received an email invitation from an agent to join their GoToAssist Seeit session, you can do the following:

  1. Open the GoToAssist Seeit email invitation sent by the agent on your mobile device.
  2. Tap the Session Link within the email invitation.

  1. If the app is already installed, you will be launched directly into the session.

    Note: This will occur for mobile devices running GoToAssist Seeit app (v6.3) or later for iOS 9 or later and Android OS 6 (Marshmallow) or later.

  2. If the app is not installed, the Google Play Store or App Store app will open and display the GoToAssist Seeit app page, where you can tap the Download icon to be redirected to the app installation page, then download the app.

    Note: If you choose not to install the GoToAssist Seeit app, you will be unable to join the GoToAssist Seeit session, as installation of the app is required.

  1. If you are using a mobile device running Android OS 5.0 (Lollipop) or earlier, a prompt will display within the email message to Open with.... Tap to select the GoToAssist Seeit app, then tap Always to allow your Android device to remember to launch all Join URLs using the GoToAssist Seeit app.

    Note: These preferences can be changed at any time from the device's Settings.

  1. If you return to the browser (which remains open in the background) or are joining the session from a mobile device running iOS 8 or earlier, you will see two options displayed upon tapping the session link:

    • Tap to download the GoToAssist Seeit app from the App Store – Jump back into the App Store app to display the app installation page, then tap the Download Now icon to download.
    • Tap to join the session – Launch directly into the GoToAssist Seeit session once the app has been installed.

Join from a text message invitation

If you have received a text message invitation from an agent on your mobile device to join their GoToAssist Seeit session, you can do the following:

  1. Open the message app on your mobile device and navigate to the text message that contains the invitation.
  2. Tap the Session link provided by the agent, or simply copy the Session Link, paste it into the address bar of your browser app, and tap Go to launch the web page.

  1. If the app is already installed, you will be launched directly into the session.

    Note: This will occur for mobile devices running GoToAssist Seeit app (v6.3) or later for iOS 9 or later and Android OS 6 (Marshmallow) or later.

  2.  If the app is not installed, the Google Play Store or App Store app will open and display the GoToAssist Seeit app page, where you can tap the Download icon to be redirected to the app installation page, then download the app.

    Note: If you choose not to install the GoToAssist Seeit app, you will be unable to join the GoToAssist Seeit session, as installation of the app is required.

Join using the Session Link

If an agent has sent you a Session link to connect to the GoToAssist Seeit session directly, proceed as follows:

  1. Open a web browser app on your mobile device.
  2. Copy the Session link provided by the agent and paste it into the address bar of your browser app, or simply type the Session Link directly into the address bar.

  1. Tap Go to launch the web page.
  2. If the app is already installed, you will be launched directly into the session.

    Note: This will occur for mobile devices running GoToAssist Seeit app (v6.3) or later for iOS 9 or later and Android OS 6 (Marshmallow) or later.

  3.  If the app is not installed, the Google Play Store or App Store app will open and display the GoToAssist Seeit app page, where you can tap the Download icon to be redirected to the app installation page, then download the app.

Restoring automatic app launch functionality

If you have accidentally chosen to open a Session Link (e.g., within an email invitation, text message invitation, etc.) with a web browser app instead of the GoToAssist Seeit app, you can change how Session Links are handled on your mobile device by clearing your previous app selection and bring prompted once again.

Instructions for Android

  1. From the Home screen, tap Menu(if applicable to your version of Android OS), then tap the Settings icon .
  2. Select Apps or App Settings, then tap the All Apps tab in the top navigation.
  3. Select the GoToAssist Seeit app.
  4. Locate the Launch By Default section, then tap Clear Defaults.

  1. Tap the Session Link from an invitation.
  2. A prompt will display within the invitation to Open with.... Tap to select the GoToAssist Seeit app, then tap Always to allow your Android device to remember to launch all Session Links using the GoToAssist Seeit app.

Instructions for iOS

  1. If you have tapped on the Session Link from an invitation, then tapped on "gotoassist.com" displayed in the top navigation of the app, you have instructed iOS to never open Session Links with the GoToAssist Seeit app going forward.

  1. To restore automatic app handling for Session Links to open with the GoToAssist Seeit app, return to the invitation containing the Session Link.
  2. Tap and hold on the Session Link until you are prompted with an app handling dialog box. Tap Open in "GoToAssist Seeit" allow your iOS device to remember to launch all Session Links using the GoToAssist Seeit app.
