Add & Share Dashboards

Dashboards provide multiple options for visualizing your data and posting it to the Monitoring home page, allowing you to spotlight the issues most vital to monitor. You can configure dashboards to display alerts, inventory, network management, server health and even frequently used searches by choosing from a wide array of built-in standard dashboards or creating and customizing your own (in the Dashboard Configurator). As the Crawler and other data collection methods continue to collect and report fresh data on a regular basis, your dashboards are dynamic and continually updated.

Add a dashboard

1. Go to Monitoring > Dashboards.

2. Click Actions > Create New Dashboard. A new tab appears for the new dashboard.

3. Use the Dashboard Configurator to build the dashboard, as follows:

  • Build a custom dashboard with individual panels.
    Under "Add this panel to this dashboard", click panel names to add them to the new dashboard.
  • Select a complete dashboard pre-populated with recommended panels.
    Under " Use this dashboard", click dashboard names to add their panels to the new dashboard. You can continue to customize the dashboard by clicking individual panels, as well.

Note: Sharing a search query, dashboard, report, alert or plugin with the GoToAssist Community shares only the query, paramaters and layout of the item, not your personal data and results. Members of the Community can utilize your search parameters against their own data in their own networks.

4. Continue adding panels to the dashboard by selecting them in the Dashboard Configurator. Modify each panel as follows: 

  • Click Edit in the panel to modify how the panel is displayed, including the type of chart (e.g., list, table, chart) and colors.
  • Click the Edit icon in the panel's top navigation to change its title and company. Click Save when finished.
  • Click the Refresh icon in the panel's top navigation to force a refresh of its data.
  • Click the Delete icon in the panel's top navigation to remove it from the dashboard.
  • Move panels to other dashboards by dragging and dropping them over another dashboard's tab

5. Use the Actions menu to access the following options (options vary depending on dashboard type): 

  • Change title – Change the title of the dashboard.
  • Share this dashboard – If its a custom dashboard, you can share it with other technicians on the account or with the larger GoToAssist community (known as a Share-it).

  • Update Dashboard Share-it – If its a shared dashboard, you can update the existing Share-it or create a new Share-it with your changes.

  • Discuss this Share-it – Go to the GoToAssist community to join the discussion about the Share-it.
  • Add application – Embed other applications as panels within the dashboard.
  • Switch to dashboard – Move the panels to one of the other dashboards
  • Number of columns – Select how many columns the panels are displayed within
  • Auto refresh – Select how often the dashboard is automatically refreshed.
  • Create new dashboard – Open a new dashboard tab.
  • Delete this dashboard – Delete the dashboard from the account.

Edit or delete a dashboard

1. Go to Monitoring > Dashboards.

2. Click the desired dashboard's tab.

3. Modify panels as desired, or click Actions > Delete This DashboardOK to delete the dashboard from the account.

Share a dashboard

1. Go to Monitoring > Dashboards.

2. Click the desired dashboard's tab.

3. Click Actions > Share this Dashboard.

4. Fill out the Share Dashboard dialog to finish sharing the dashboard. Click Share Dashboard when finished.
